Susan Waithera Kibandi is an Information Technology professional equipped with business tools whose orientation is management. She holds a bachelor of science in Business Information Technology from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology and has successfully completed the Decision-Focused Evaluation (DFE) Training for program implementors and policy makers.
She has been working as an expertise in areas of gender and project management. She served in the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs |Lunga Lunga Sub-County, Kenya, where she was actively involved in project identification and appraisal according to the specific project which involves the Youth, Women, SMEs and PWD. She has empowered her community especially the youth through mobilization and mentorship into programs such as Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project.
Through her knowledge, skills and abilities she aspires to empower women in trade under the project “Making Trade Work for Women”. She encourages women traders to embrace new technologies such as mobile applications and also utilize social media that provide and improve access to market and trade related information. With such e-platforms in use there will be wide information sharing and knowledge exchange contributing to greater inclusion of women in trade.
