Elizabeth Mwikali Mutuku is a Project Assistant of the Eastern African Sub-Regional Support Initiative for the Advancement of Women (EASSI) at Taveta/Holili border. She has experience in the same position working for EASSI under the project ‘Consolidating the gains of women cross border traders in EAC economic integration process’ between 2015-2017. She is a women’s rights and gender equality activist.
Before joining EASSI, Elizabeth worked for Kenya wildlife service as reservation assistant, marketing and selling KWS products for two years. She has also worked for Kenya national bureau of statistics and Huduma namba where she gained a vast experience in enumeration skill. In 2015 she worked for the Minisrty of labour and social security services in a ‘Recertification process’ for older persons and persons with severe disabilities cash transfer program also as an enumerator.
Elizabeth has been holding leadership roles since high school where the reality of being a born leader hit. As a result of this, she has been awarded certificates from being a games captain in high school and college where she was an active member of the basketball team to certificates for being a secretary For the Makerere tourism association and the Akamba students Association at Makerere university. . Elizabeth is passionate about Music and Art and loves learning new things. Her love for art has made her dive into the world of crotcheting and she teaches young girls this skill so as to keep themselves busy and women traders to earn an extra income.
